Job Advert - Housing support worker

We are seeking someone with the heart, skills and experience to work in our expanding team. The successful applicant will need to have good communication skills, be diligent and organised, quick to learn and pay attention to detail. Brief description of role

The role involves helping single homeless people access accommodation, primarily in hostels and supported housing. The post-holder will represent the charity externally to referral agencies, homeless clients, statutory authorities, supporting churches and volunteers. They will be involved with assessing and supporting homeless people and those at risk of homelessness through the process from referral to housing. 

Hours to be worked

The core hours are 9am to 5.30pm, Monday to Friday, but there might be times that the post-holder will need to work extra hours when necessary. This could include being available for occasional evenings and at weekends to participate in special events like fundraisers or networking events if needed.

Location of work

The role will be based at our London office at 360 City Road, EC1V 2PY.

Salary banding and length of contract

Between £21,000 and £26,000 depending on experience. The role was created because of grant funding for 2019-20 so HOPE worldwide can only offer a contract until May 2021. The post comes with 25 days of annual leave plus Bank Holidays.
